Learning Support Services
At AIA, we have put a number of safeguards in place to ensure that all students have the best opportunity to succeed. First, there is our emphasis on differentiated approaches to teaching, which ensures that we provide multiple methods of meeting your child’s needs. Furthermore, we have co-teachers in grades one to five to work collaboratively with the homeroom teachers to facilitate differentiation. We have also taken into account your child’s individual linguistic needs and have provided English and Arabic as a second language. We have also included a highly-qualified staff of counselors and psychologists who support your child’s emotional needs, as well as, conducting testing that could lead to a referral to our Learning Support Program. This program is excellently staffed by specialized educators and speech-language therapists, who are dedicated to helping your child be successful and assisting teachers to make appropriate accommodations where warranted. The learning support team works in close collaboration with students, parents, teachers and all involved to develop individualized education plans (IEP) tailored to meet the needs of each student they service. Their services are mostly provided in the classroom to help including those students, and in some cases pull out sessions are used. All this collaboration and support has been aimed to give students increased self-esteem and the best opportunity to be successful in their school and academic careers.
