Sports Day
Since its establishment, AIA abided by its motto “7 days without exercise makes one weak” through its extensive athletic programs, sports activities, and events. AIA held its annual sports day to raise awareness of the importance of playing sports and in alignment with the Emiri Resolution issued No. 80 of 2011, which stipulates the allocation of a national sport day in February.
Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary students participated in a variety of sports activities on Thursday, February 6, 2020 which were held in the exterior pitch and running track of each building; these activities mainly included running, jumping, and shooting balls towards specific goals, in addition to many other games.
The elementary school organized sports and recreational activities on Sunday, February 9, 2020 to promote teamwork and solidarity among all players. In order to release the potential of our students and make sport a lifestyle and daily practice, we were keen, in the secondary school, to organize a sports awareness day, which took place on Monday, February 10, 2020. This day was an opportunity to strengthen the ties between the academic staff and students who competed, in teams and individually, in speed races and tug-of-war, which added an atmosphere of pleasure and enjoyment.
At the end of these three-day activities, medals and cups were distributed to the winning teams in a beautiful and festive atmosphere in which feelings of joy and victory were present. These events were an opportunity to enhance students' strategic thinking and the spirit of fair competition. By organizing such activities, we hope to establish a culture of sports and fitness and raise a balanced, cooperative and caring generation who care for their health and the health of those around them.
